The focus is on the development of commercial real estate – primarily offices and retail outlets – from the initial planning stages to completion, including both new developments and the revitalisation of existing buildings.
The extensive network that the company has in place with its main shareholder and capital partner, Deutsche Immobilien Holding AG (a holding company belonging to the Zech Group GmbH) ensures access to extensive expertise and the necessary capital resources.
New project developments for Düsseldorf, Cologne and environs as well as the Ruhr Area are currently at the top of the company’s agenda.

Current projects:
Kö-Bogen, Düsseldorf. A truly centennial development featuring a world-renowned architect. Right in the centre of Düsseldorf, in one of the world’s busiest shopping and business areas, die developer and Daniel Libeskind will crown the exclusive Königsallee (King’s Avenue) with their Kö-Bogen project.
In the heart of the city, between Königsallee, Schadowplatz and Hofgarten, the die developer project team is set to realise one of the most important urban development plans for the future of Düsseldorf. Daniel Libeskind’s ambitious and highly creative design links the city’s rich history with its future by reviving a historic urban structure that was destroyed during the Second World War. The New York-based architect, best known for master planning the World Trade Center site and creating the Jewish Museum in Berlin, will reunite Königsallee with the Hofgarten park using his Kö-Bogen concept, which will set the crowning glory on the combined splendour of avenue and park. The new gateway to Königsallee also opens up new avenues for developing the adjacent areas, integrating the surrounding streets and urban spaces.
The construction of the new Wehrhahn underground line and street tunnel system will revitalise one of the city’s central squares, Jan-Wellem-Platz. The refurbishment of the entire area will create an attractive urban centre and become a new attraction for Düsseldorf residents and visitors.
The striking Kö-Bogen development will form a multifunctional pivot in one of the busiest urban zones – symbol of a new urban architecture that succeeds in linking city and landscape. The ground-breaking ceremony and the laying of the first cornerstone, attended by Daniel Libeskind, Lord Mayor Dirk Elbers and other prominent guests, took place in August 2009 and in August 2011. By the end of 2013, a gross floor area of up to 40,000 m² will be available on six storeys for retailers, restaurants and offices, enriching and rejuvenating this central location.
Unternehmerstadt Düsseldorf – LIGHTHOUSE DÜSSELDORF, doubleU and casa altra. Together with Rheinmetall Imobilien GmbH, die developer Projektentwicklung GmbH is currently working on three office projects in the Unternehmerstadt, a premium residential, office and service location on a 90,000 m² site owned by Rheinmetall AG. The LIGHTHOUSE DÜSSELDORF is a beacon for the transformation of the city’s northern districts. As a cornerstone of the Unternehmerstadt, it also marks the dynamic pace of development in this area. The building has been certified ‘silver’ by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). After its completion in 2010, the building provides now a GFA of 11,000 m². It’s already passed over to the new owner SwissLife. The completion of the doubleU office building on the neighbouring plot was at the end of 2011. doubleU offers companies around 13,500 m² of top-quality office space. Like its illustrious neighbour, the LIGHTHOUSE, the doubleU will be a fine addition to the Unternehmerstadt location, making its own contribution to the early completion of this prestigious quarter. The latest project in the Unternehmerstadt: the construction start for casa altra Düsseldorf with a GFA around 14.800 m² started in the first quarter 2011. All projects are nearly completely rented.
Vodafone Campus Düsseldorf: with this project – one of the biggest projects for a single company in whole Europe – die developer place a positive signal for the ambitious business location Düsseldorf. With this new Campus it’s possible for Vodafone to pool all locations in Düsseldorf on one area and so the spatial terms and conditions for effective work and communication are given. So the German headquarter of the telecommunication company stays in Düsseldorf for many years and safeguards jobs. The new Vodafone Campus on the former brewery used location site will have a 19 grounds, 100 meter high “Vodafone-Tower” as urban highlight. The tower, three office buildings and a huge multi-storey car park will be realized within 27 month till the end of 2012. The lease contract with Vodafone includes 86.000 m² of office space and has a contract period of 20 years. The investment amounts around 300 Mio. Euro. A consortium of Zechbau/Ed. Züblin is responsible for the realization and construction.
