Where today’s business takes off

Globally connected and regionally networked, Düsseldorf’s premium property development “Airport City” is growing at a breathtaking pace. Dovetailed with Düsseldorf International – Germany’s third-largest airport – this modern, attractive business park offers ideal conditions for businesses of all kinds. “Airport City gives companies direct access to the world’s major retail centres,” says Christoph Blume, CEO of Flughafen Düsseldorf GmbH. Optimally connected to all major transport routes, Airport City lies at the centre of one of Europe’s most important economic regions.

Flughafen Düsseldorf Immobilien GmbH is the organisation responsible for the planning and development of this 232,000 m² commercial site. The second planning phase envisages the creation of new buildings comprising a gross floor area of approx. 250,000 m². Building plots can be made available in various sizes, with the possibility of constructing properties between 3,000 and 30,000 m² GFA.

Mosts plots have already been sold as the first construction phase, incorporating almost a third of the entire area, is nearing completion. Its anchor project, the Maritim Hotel Düsseldorf, opened doors in December 2007 and is the biggest congress hotel in North Rhine-Westphalia. Less than a year later in November 2008 the site saw the opening of the largest Porsche centre in Germany.

Another two projects were finished September this year, while two further projects are still under construction with completion expected in September 2010. The airport is confident that the entire site will be sold to investors by 2013.
